Merchant Solutions updates for feature enhancements

Thursday, January 19th, 2012

On Monday, January 23, at 7:30 p.m. PT, until Tuesday, January 24, at 6:30 a.m. PT, Yahoo! Merchant Solutions will be releasing several feature enhancements. While we do this work, there may be a 30 to 40-minute period during which shoppers may be unable to use coupons or gift certificates while placing an order, order numbers may not be available, registered customers will not be able to view their order history, and order and catalog APIs will not be available. Store Manager will not be available during this 30 to 40-minute period. Publishes and Order Manager sessions in progress while this work occurs may be interrupted. Merchants are advised to complete store publishes and work in Order Manager before the updates begin. FDMS batch submissions and site statistics reporting may be delayed until the following day. Some redirect rules created in Page Redirect Manager may not be active for a brief period of time during the release work.

Please note: Merchants using the Database Inventory feature should set their “Quantity can Exceed Availability” setting to “Yes” for the update period, or orders may not be accepted. Your inventory will automatically be updated to reflect new orders once work is complete. Orders received during this time should be checked against available item quantities to ensure the order can be filled.

To modify the “Quantity can Exceed Availability” setting:

  1. In Store Manager, click the “Configure Inventory” link (located in the Order Settings column).
  2. In the Settings Section, change “Quantity can Exceed Availability” to “Yes.”
  3. Click the “Update” button.
  4. Publish your Order Settings.

Following the update period, you may restore your original settings to prevent items from being ordered when they’re not in stock. We apologize for any inconvenience.

UPS system maintenance on October 22 and 23

Thursday, October 20th, 2011

Merchants who use integrated UPS functionality are advised that on Saturday, October 22 and Sunday, October 23, UPS will perform database maintenance for some of their systems. UPS expects two 15-minute service interruptions for some UPS systems while the maintenance occurs. The first 15-minute UPS service interruption is expected to begin at 10 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. PT on October 22, and the second 15-minute interruption is expected to begin at 3 a.m. ET / 12 a.m. PT on October 23.

If you are using real-time rates from UPS and have the “Calculate in real-time, error if no matching rule” option selected in the Settings section of Shipping Manager, you may wish to change this setting to “Calculate in real-time, OK if no matching rule” or “Tell customers that shipping may be added later” for the service interruption period so orders are accepted.
