Orders failing to register new domain names

Recently placed orders for Yahoo! Small Business products may result in the purchased domain name failing to complete registration.

Yahoo! Small Business customers who have already purchased a domain name may experience latency or timeout error messages when accessing the Domain Control Panel for their domains.

We are currently working to resolve these problems as quickly as possible.  Your patience is appreciated.

Domains accounts generating bounced messages

Domains accounts are intermittently generating bounced messages when trying to send to the Business Email alias. Senders may see the following bounced messages:

  • Resources temporarily unavailable, please try again later [#4.1.12]. /I’m not going to try again; this message has been in the queue too long.
  • Resources temporarily unavailable, please try again later [#4.1.13]

Our engineers are aware of this problem and are working to resolve it as quickly as possible. We will provide more information in the next 24 hours.

Errors reactivating a Yahoo! Web Hosting service

Customers may experience an error when attempting to reactivate a Yahoo! Web Hosting account. An example of the error is the following:

  • Sorry cannot complete your order, please try again.
  • This domain already associated with another plan please try again.

If you encounter this type of error when trying to reactivate your service, please contact us for further troubleshooting.

We are working to resolve this problem as quickly as possible.

Unable to create or edit starter web page

Customers have reported errors when attempting to create or edit their starter web page.  When attempting to preview or save the following error occurs:

“An error has occurred.  Please wait a few moments, and then right-click on this message and select ‘Refresh’ or ‘Reload Frame’ to retry the operation.

If you continue to receive this message, we need your help!  Please send us feedback and describe exactly what steps you took to cause this message to appear.”

We are aware of the issue and are working towards a resolution as quickly as possible.  At this time there is no need to follow the feedback link listed in the error message.

Unable to order, upgrade, or transfer domains

Our domain registrar, Melbourne IT, has reported problems with their domains database.

Reported Domain Control Panel slowness, issues changing name servers

Some users have reported slow loading or an  unresponsive page when attempting to access their Domain Control Panel.

Customers whose domains are registered with Yahoo! may not see the ‘Change Nameservers’ option in their Domain Control Panel.

Our engineers are aware of this issue and are working to resolve it as soon as possible.

Incorrect name servers added to WHOIS information

Domain names registered through Yahoo! Small Business and Melbourne IT are displaying incorrect name servers in the public WHOIS information. Melbourne IT is aware of the issue and is currently working to resolve the issue.

Reported slowness or unresponsive pages when attempting to access the Domain Control Panel

Some users have reported slow loading or an  unresponsive page when attempting to access their Domain Control Panel.

Updated DNS records and new/reactivated domains are not resolving

Some Yahoo! Small Business customers may experience an issue where updates to DNS records made from the Advanced DNS Settings page of the Domain Control Panel are not propagating.

Also, customers with new or reactivated accounts may experience issues resolving their domain names.

We are working to resolve these issues as soon as possible and appreciate your patience and understanding.

Some Yahoo! Small Business accounts may show pending status.

Certain new Yahoo! Web Hosting, Domains, or Business Email orders placed between July 10th, 2010 to July 16th, 2010  may still show pending status in the control panel.

We are aware of this issue and are working toward a resolution as quickly as possible.  Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available
