Intermittent email delivery issues

Some Yahoo! Small Business customers may be experiencing delays with email delivery when using the Yahoo! Mail web interface or a POP client such as Microsoft Outlook, Outlook Express, or Mozilla Thunderbird, etc.

Customers encountering this issue can experience delivery delays for several hours.

We are actively working toward a resolution as soon as possible and will have further updates once they are available.

Contact Lists appear different while toggling between Yahoo! ID and Business Email accounts

Some Yahoo! Small Business customers may see differences in their contact lists and may also find a few contacts missing when viewing their accounts using their Yahoo! ID versus their Business email.

We are aware of this issue and are working to resolve it at the earliest.

Yahoo! Small Business SMTP servers no longer accepting unauthenticated outbound traffic.

Users who were previously sending email via smtp.bizmail.yahoo.com with an unverified from-address may receive error 553 when attempting to send mail using this configuration.

We are currently working to resolve this problem, and will update with further details when available.

Problems with displaying or creating users within the Email Control Panel

Some users may experience the following errors within their Email Control Panel:

  1. The list of Business Email users may not be displayed. Refreshing the page may intermittently display the list.
  2. While trying to create new Business Email users, the following error may occur:Server error, website encountered an error while retrieving…

Cannot upload and/or download attachments in Yahoo! Mail and Business Email

When trying to upload and/or download attachments in the Yahoo! Mail and Business Email Webmail interfaces, the following errors are displayed:

  • Error message: “File cannot be sent”
  • “An unexpected problem has occurred. Performing your action again in a few moments will probably solve the problem. If it persists, we suggest you close this window and re-launch Yahoo! Mail.”

We are working to resolve this problem as quickly as possible. We apologize for any inconveniences this may be causing.

Some Yahoo! Small Business customers in India have reported that they are getting a “password prompt” when accessing  their Business Mail using any known POP client like Outlook, Outlook Express, Mac Mail, etc.

When customers click on the Send/Receive button to download their emails, they may encounter a password looping issue. Alternatively, customers can access their Business Mail using the web mail interface.

We are aware of this issue and our engineers are working to resolve it as quickly as possible. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Business Email search may not return results

Yahoo! Small Business customers may not be able to search for Business Email in the Webmail interface.

When performing a Business Email search, the search results page may be displayed with zero results.

If you are experiencing these symptoms, please contact us for further troubleshooting.

Yahoo! Business Email Upgrade Beginning the Week of Sept 12, 2011

Beginning the week of September 12, Business Email customers will be upgraded to the newest version of Business Email.

Please note that accounts will be upgraded over a several-week period, and that your account may not immediately be upgraded.
