Latency And Database Errors

Some users may experience latency while accessing their web sites.

Some database-driven websites may also display “Error establishing a database connection” or similar database connectivity errors.

We are aware of this issue and are currently investigating.

Some viewers are unable to see some Yahoo!-hosted web sites.

Tuesday, November 17th, 2009

We have received reports that some Yahoo!-hosted web sites are not visible to all viewers. Yahoo! has investigated this matter, and the issue appears to be specific to certain Internet service providers (ISPs). If you are unable to see your Yahoo!-hosted web site, or are told that others are unable to see it, please visit the following link:

http://whfarm11.com

If this site does not load, please contact your internet service provider and inform them of the connection failure. Please rest assured that most people around the world are able to see your web site, and we hope that your Internet service provider will be able to help you see your site again quickly.

If the site above does load as normal, there may be something else happening with your web site. Please contact Yahoo! Small Business Technical support.

Maintenance affecting one server on November 15

Wednesday, November 11th, 2009

On November 15, from 10:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. (PST), we will be conducting important maintenance on one of our servers. If you do not see a notice about this maintenance in your Store Manager, your store is not affected.

Shoppers may be unable to use gift certificates or coupons when placing an order during the maintenance period. Store Manager will not be available during this time. Merchants should complete all store publishes before maintenance begins. Publishes in-progress will be stopped resulting in a partial content publish. FDMS batch submissions and site statistics reporting may be delayed until the following day.

Please note: Merchants using the Database Inventory feature should set their "Quantity can Exceed Availability" setting to "Yes" for the maintenance period, or orders may not be accepted. Your inventory will automatically be updated to reflect new orders once the maintenance is complete. Orders received during this time should be checked against available item quantities to ensure the order can be filled.

To modify the "Quantity can Exceed Availability" setting:

  1. In Store Manager, click on "Configure Inventory" (located in the Order Settings column)
  2. In the Settings Section, change "Quantity can Exceed Availability" to "Yes"
  3. Click the "Update" button
  4. Publish your Order Settings

Following the maintenance period, you may restore your original settings if needed, to prevent items from being ordered when they’re not in stock. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Business Email maintenance until November 21

Monday, November 9th, 2009

From November 11 through November 21, 2009, we will be upgrading our Yahoo! Business Email servers as part of our ongoing efforts to bring you the best email service possible.

During this time, you may encounter a “Temporary Access Error” message when trying to access your Business Email account. If you see this message, please try accessing your mail again in a couple of hours, after which maintenance on your server should be complete and normal email service restored.

Note that you will not lose any data during this maintenance period.

Web Hosting site access issues

Monday, November 9th, 2009

Some Yahoo! Small Business customers may be unable to access their web sites at their domain names (web addresses) at this time. Web browsers may return a 404 or DNS error message when attempting to view these sites.

This will also affect our customers’ ability to access their sites using the alternate hosting URL, or accessing Yahoo! Site Solution or phpMyAdmin.

We are aware of this issue and are working to bring your sites back online as quickly as possible.
